Good Things

Good Things

What a superb weekend!  Two beautiful spring days, first bbq of the season, we went on our first Rogaine (kind of like orienteering) and I even managed to fit in some crafting *happy grin*.  Good things are definitely on their way!

I started with the layout of Joan Bardee’s card at Muse, and I wanted to use the colors from this week’s Color Throwdown challenge.  I started with a rectangle of kraft that I overstamped with the alphabet stamp from Stampers Anonymous School Desk using SU! Night of Navy, then rounded the corners and distressed the edges with Chipped Sapphire.  I cut a second rectangle from some light blue paper from my stash, rounded the corners and distressed the edges with Antique Linen then stamped the sentiment from MFT Encouraging Words in Night of Navy.

The flowers are one of the stunning blooms from MFT Modern Blooms.  The petals are SU! Tangerine Tango stamped off once, and the inside highlights are Tangerine Tango at full strength.  The dots in the middle are Night of Navy, with some little white highlights using a white gel pen.  I fussy cut them with a white border for contrast.

The bottom layer is Crumb Cake, embossed using the TE folder Weathered (current fav). The orange banner at the side is Tangerine Tango direct to paper, with white gel pen dots and cut to a fishtail.  The second banner is an offcut from the kraft stamped rectangle.  I wrapped some twine around the bottom of the card for contrast, and threw a few PPP clear sequins around.

Well happy with this creation.  Such fun!

Thanks for stopping by!
