Still lovin’ on the bunnies…  I mean, seriously – how cute are these little lagomorphs??

I started with some watercolor paper, a falling stars stencil from SU and Weathered Wood distress ink to create the stars for the bunnies to wish on.  To make the stars a bit more ‘watercolored’ I used a wet paintbrush to draw over each star and blend the ink a bit more.

The bunnies are also stamped in Weathered Wood.  I used my wet paintbrush again to pull some of the ink from the stamped outline into the bunnies to colour them.  And a bit more ink that I smooshed onto my craft mat so I could create the shadow under their fluffy wee bums and add a smidge more contour.

Simon’s ‘Wishing‘ die was cut once from a random scrap of black cardstock, and embossed using Versamark and clear embossing powder. I ended up cutting five dots for the i’s – I later found two of them later stuck to the side of my Tombow glue haha! (Bother it – those little dots are super hard to heat emboss!) I Tombow’ed the finished sentiment over a nest of silver thread.

I layered it all onto a Whisper White base card, with a black layer to make the monotone layer sing. I tried several other little sentiments, but in the end decided that it didn’t really need anything else.  Less is More – right?

Thanks for popping by!

  1. A striking and beautiful card with such subtle colours, however it’s our one layer card week at Less is More and sadly there are quite a number of layers here therefore we are unable to accept it this time. So sorry and I do hope you’ll play along again sometime. Thanks for sharing. Sarah Less is More DT

  2. It’s great to see you at Less is More Karyn, but on One Layer challenge weeks, the images should be stamped directly onto the card base. We do have guidelines on the blog if you’re not sure.
However having said that your colouring is wonderful!
    DO join us again!
    Thanks so much

  4. I adore your card, Karyn. The way you’ve coloured in your bunnies looks awesome. But as Sarah mentioned, our challenge was for a one layer card so, unfortunately, your creation won’t qualify 🙁
Thanks for sharing with us and please do join us again.
